History never moves in a straight line; it moves in cycles. Right now, the United States stands at the edge of one of the most dangerous cycles in modern history—one eerily reminiscent of the breakdown of democratic institutions in the early 20th century.
For years, Trump's 'Make America Great Again' (MAGA) movement has been framed as a unified force, driven by a shared vision of nationalism, power, and anti-establishment fervor. However, history tells us that movements built on temporary alliances and mutual convenience eventually implode.
The collapse won’t happen overnight. If history is any indication, it will begin with an uneasy power-sharing agreement, where each faction consolidates control before inevitable betrayals occur. This pattern was evident in Nazi Germany, where Hitler initially relied on traditional conservatives before eliminating them, and in Stalin’s USSR, where power struggles within the Communist Party ended with purges. The United States may be on a similar trajectory.
Germany and Italy embraced authoritarianism under the guise of nationalist renewal. Chile’s military dictatorship emerged from a right-wing coup enabled by economic elites. Argentina’s fascist Peronist movement courted both the Catholic Church and militant right-wing enforcers before ultimately falling apart. Romania’s Iron Guard collapsed due to infighting between its own leaders. These cases suggest that the MAGA movement’s internal divisions could lead to its own undoing.
The Factions: An Overview
The MAGA movement is not a unified force. It is a fragile coalition of three competing factions, bound together by mutual enemies, not shared goals. Their uneasy alliance was necessary to seize power, but history shows that authoritarian movements built on convenience rather than ideology always turn on themselves.
The Christian Nationalists seek to infuse governance with religious doctrine, aiming to reshape America into a theocracy where biblical law supersedes democratic principles. Their ambitions are not abstract; they are meticulously laid out in Project 2025, a blueprint crafted by The Heritage Foundation that outlines a comprehensive plan to dismantle the administrative state and establish a government rooted in conservative Christian ideology. From rolling back LGBTQ+ rights to imposing religious influence over education, reproductive healthcare, and public policy, this faction envisions an America where faith dictates governance. Their growing influence within the MAGA movement signals a determined effort to institutionalize their agenda, setting the stage for a potential theocratic future.
The Extraction Class, comprised of tech billionaires and corporate magnates, envisions a post-democratic America dominated by AI-driven governance and corporate monopolies. Their focus is on deregulation and economic control, leveraging technological advancements to erode traditional democratic structures while preserving their dominance. What sets them apart is their relentless drive to extract resources—whether wealth, labor, data, or influence—from every corner of society. They exploit workers through precarious gig economies, harvest personal data for profit, and manipulate markets to amass unprecedented wealth, all while dismantling regulatory safeguards. Religion is merely a tool for pacifying the masses, and governance is a system to be hollowed out. Their ultimate aim is not just control, but the continuous extraction and hoarding of resources to maintain and expand their grip on power.
The Militant Extremists are driven by ideologies of racial supremacy and a desire for governance through force. This faction has often served as the movement's enforcers, sowing chaos to advance MAGA’s broader goals. However, feeling marginalized and used, their motivations have shifted toward violent retaliation. The internal conflicts within the MAGA movement have exacerbated these sentiments, leading to a growing risk of violent insurrection from within.
Authoritarian movements rarely end in harmony. Whether through violent power struggles, mass purges, or state-sponsored suppression, history tells us that these alliances always collapse. The question is no longer whether MAGA will fracture, but how much damage it will inflict before it does.

It's above my pay scale, but that graphic tool concept works well for this information.
I really want to over lay my "codeswitching" in my recent writings on this. You really can't un-see the heart of the matter once you see it. All the best, Miss Jamie,
