Thank you for the suggestions. Great advice for all of us!
I know I've posted these links before but there are so many excellent resources, discussions, and ideas being shared within these and other great movements, that I have to share again:
pay attention to deregulation efforts..........ex..staffing at nursing homes...that industry has been highly privatized... ex. safety standards for workplace..... don't let that slide by........
Great reminder. Privatization and deregulation often happen quietly, behind louder headlines. Your point about the healthcare and nursing home sectors is critical as these vulnerable populations frequently bear the brunt. We’ll need vigilance and vocal opposition to these tactics at every step. Thanks for highlighting this!
I will add one note to the "finally" part: My own question to myself is "Am I doing what I can?" Because the question isn't how much you are doing but, again, are you doing what you can. For some, it's a lot. For some, it's a little. And how much is "what I can" may vary from day to day. "Am I doing what I can - today, this day?"
Usually, my answer to myself would be "No." But having burned out of political action twice and still trying to come back from the second, I am well aware of the need for some degree of balance.
Thank you for this thoughtful reflection, Larry. You’re exactly right: it’s not about volume, but intentionality. Taking care of yourself and finding balance is essential to sustain meaningful action. Your honesty about burnout will resonate with many. Be gentle with yourself as you navigate your path forward.
Excellent, Lisa! Thank you for this. I love what you said about not "normalizing" what is going on. That means speaking up and speaking out, even on an individual basis. Life is not normal now. I can't go out to lunch with a Trump-voting friend and simply pretend this nightmare isn't happening. Not anymore. Our discussions need to be civil, of course, but we cannot keep avoiding the truth or pouring pink paint on what's really going on in our poor country.
I’m not Lisa but absolutely, Cindy. “Not normalizing” this moment means holding steady in the discomfort of these conversations and confronting reality clearly. It’s difficult, but necessary work. Thank you for refusing to look away and encouraging others to speak out as well. Together we amplify each other’s voices.
Fantastic article and so well-worded with vital strategies for building movements of resistance! I especially like the daily question: “What is mine to do?” to inform action. Brilliant. Will absolutely be following the advice outlined here!! 🩵✊🏽
Thanks so much, Claire! It’s a question that really helps transform overwhelm into tangible action. Glad that resonated with you—it’s the core of our collective resistance!
Thank you so very much for pulling all of this together. We hosted a community meeting last week and started out by saying - we are not experts, but we have to do something… I am sharing this post widely. 💪🏼🇺🇸
Emily, thank you for organizing and taking action in your community! You’re already leading by example. Appreciate you spreading the word and multiplying the impact.
# RESIST and Anti- Trump & Anti- Musk movements in greatly full- forces across our country will overcome American authoratrianism and fascism by taking one- step to another step.
Thank you for the suggestions. Great advice for all of us!

Our power is within our growing solidarity! Peace to all!
Post them as often as you can. Thank you, Ben!
Have these been sent to the leadership of every union and Democracy friendly agency known to us?
Maybe all of us can send to a few people or organizations we know. Maybe even to the other Substacks we follow or have subscriptions to.
Love this. 🙏🏻
Thank you for your support, Paul!
More, please. Keep it coming, and thank you.
Thank you, Karen! I promise to keep sharing resources and strategies. We’re in this together, and every action counts.

Back at you!
Thank you, I needed to read this today.
You’re very welcome, Jill. I’m glad it reached you right when you needed it. We’re stronger when we remind each other we’re in this together.
# RESIST and Anti- Trump & Anti- Musk movements in greatly full- forces across our country will overcome American authoratrianism and fascism by taking one- step to another step.
Exactly, Christa! Step by step, unified resistance makes meaningful change possible. Thanks for adding your voice to the fight.
“What is mine to do today” I love this! Thank you 🫶🏾
So glad that line resonated! It’s empowering, isn’t it? Keep doing what feels right for you today.
Excellent. Need to get it out EVERYWHERE!
Absolutely, Rachelle! The more widely we share, the stronger our resistance becomes. Thank you for helping amplify the message!
